Mr. President,
Please allow this representation to co-sponsor Senate Bill No. 155 under Committee Report No. 8 or the proposed “Simplified Government Aid Access Act”.
We recognize the urgent need to streamline the documentary requirements in granting government aid to those in need. This bill is timely as many of our countrymen have been impacted by the recent disasters in the past few weeks.
Huwag na natin bigyan ng ikakapagod at iisipin pa ang ating mga kababayang nangangailangan—lalong lalo na ang mga nasalanta at naapektuhan ng kalamidad dahil sa paiba-ibang patakaran tungkol sa pagpasa ng kinakailangang dokumentasyon para lang makakuha sila ng ayuda mula sa gobyerno.
Sila ang higit na kailangan ng tulong, at hindi na sila dapat pahirapan pa.
Mr. President, we all know that this has been a recurring issue. And we thank the good senator for sponsoring this measure as he may have experienced this problem first-hand when he was the Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
This inhumane practice must stop. Now.
