CA confirms appointments of De Vega, 18 other DFA officials

(GMA NEWS) The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Tuesday confirmed the appointments and promotions of 19 officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs, including Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega.

This came after the CA committee on foreign affairs endorsed to the plenary the confirmation of the following DFA officials:

-Eduardo De Vega, who was DFA’s undersecretary for migration affairs, Chief of Mission, Class I, as Philippine Ambassador to the French Republic with concurrent jurisdiction over the Principality of Monaco
-Maria Elena Palo Algabre – Chief of Mission, Class I, as Ambassador Extraordinary And Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Hungary, with concurrent jurisdiction over Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and the Republic of Serbia
-Christopher Baltazar Montero – Chief of Mission, Class I, as Ambassador Extraordinary And Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Indonesia
-Domingo Pradiez Nolasco – Chief of Mission, Class I, as Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia in addition to being Ambassador Extraordinary And Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Finland
-Patrick Ang Chuasoto – Chief of Mission, Class II, as Ambassador Extraordinary And Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Sweden, with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Latvia
-Jose Victor Villarino Chan-Gonzaga – Chief of Mission, Class II as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Canada
-Aileen Sibal Mendiola-Rau – Chief of Mission, Class II, as Ambassador Extraordinary And Plenipotentiary to the State of Israel
-Elizabeth Tan Te – Chief of Mission, Class II, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic
-Alan Lazaro Deniega – Chief of Mission, Class I
-Ezzedin Hamdi Tago – Chief of Mission, Class I
-Gabriel Romero Bautista – Career Minister
-Alena Grace Santiago Borra – Career Minister
-Dominic Xavier Marquez Imperial – Career Minister
-Juan Paolo Gonzalez Alix – Foreign Service Officer Class I
-Jahzeel Abihail Cruz – Foreign Service Officer, Class I
-Maria Rosanna Ocampo Josue – Foreign Service Officer, Class I
-Joel Mendoza Peralta – Foreign Service Officer, Class I
-Ajeet-Victor Salangsang Panemanglor – Foreign Service Officer, Class I
-Adrian Guianan Miras – Foreign Service Officer Class II

Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, who sponsored the promotions of the DFA officials in the CA plenary, vouched for their competence.

“These individuals, whose professional excellence and unwavering commitment to public service are beyond question, have been carefully vetted by our committee and found to be highly qualified to represent our country in the international arena,” he said.

“These officials have dedicated their careers to upholding the interests of the Filipino people abroad, strengthening diplomatic relations, and ensuring that our foreign service continues to be a pillar of national strength.
