Besties Na! Erap Reunites With Former Rival De Venecia

(POLITIKO) Former president Joseph Estrada and former speaker Jose de Venecia set aside old rivalries for a friendly reunion.

The two politikos got a chance to reconnect when De Venecia recently paid a visit to Estrada at his home. Snapshots from the reunion between the once-bitter foes have been shared by Senator Jinggoy Estrada on his Facebook page on Jan. 7.

Estrada and De Venecia were former contenders in the 1998 presidential elections. Estrada beat De Venecia, an ally of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, in the polls.

“FORMER RIVALS TURNED BEST OF FRIENDS. FMR PRES. JOSEPH ESTRADA AND FMR SPEAKER JOE DE VENECIA,” he captioned the snapshots from the reunion.

Senator Jinggoy expressed gratitude to De Venecia and his wife former Pangasinan Rep. Gina de Venecia for the visit.

“Thank you Speaker Joe, Tita Gina, Tita Betchay and Tita Chona for visiting my dad and mom. Means a lot to us. Very well appreciated. Again, maraming salamat,” the senator said.
