Mr. President, esteemed colleagues, good afternoon.
As co-chairperson of the working group meeting on political and security matters during the recently concluded 31st Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum, this representation would like to commend all government agencies and public servants who have been instrumental in the Philippines’ historic hosting of the APPF.
The success of the event, which gathered hundreds of parliamentarians across the region, is further proof of their utmost dedication and commitment to aid policymakers to craft meaningful initiatives to attain peace and stability and overall, achieve sustained growth.
I would like to personally congratulate and commend the very capable staff and foreign service officers of the Department of Foreign Affairs for lending their institutional expertise in diplomatic procedure and protocol, and guiding and aiding the various APPF committees in accomplishing our tasks.
Most importantly, this representation recognizes the hard work and tireless dedication of the Senate and House Secretariats, and the legislative branch for pulling off the herculean task of showing the world the caliber of the Filipino parliamentarians. My heartfelt gratitude for all your efforts, for going the extra mile of ensuring that all our guests are well taken care of and showing the true spirit of Filipino hospitality.
On behalf of the Philippine delegation, it is fitting for this chamber to recognize their professionalism, effort, and sense of duty to ensure an efficient program flow for our foreign visitors.
