Bawal Judgmental! Jinggoy: ‘Too Early’ To Form Opinions On Doping Claim Vs Justin Brownlee

(POLITIKO) Senator Jinggoy Estrada has asked the public not to jump into conclusions after Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player Justin Brownlee failed his doping test.

Estrada made the reaction after Brownlee was found by the International Testing Agency positive for Carboxy-THC, which is linked to cannabis use.

“As of now, there are certain mechanisms available for our sports officials and Mr. Justin Brownlee to appeal his case, and I am optimistic that they will take the necessary steps to address his current situation,” Estrada said on Friday (Oct. 13).

The athlete may still appeal his adverse results, so it would be premature to make conclusions about the issue, Estrada said.

“It is crucial to remember that his doping allegations are still under investigation and have not been resolved yet. It might be too early to form any opinions or judgments until more details become available,” he added.

Brownlee’s failed drug test was released days after the newly naturalized Filipino led Gilas in winning the gold at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou.
