(POLITIKO) Senator Jinggoy Estrada has urged the administration to launch a ruthless crackdown on smugglers and hoarders of agricultural goods.
“Dapat gamitan na niya ng kamay na bakal,” Estrada said in a press conference on Tuesday (July 25) as he urged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to go after agricultural smugglers.
Estrada thanked the President for his stern warning against perpetrators of economic sabotage in his State of the Nation Address (SONA).
“Sinabi naman ng President that your days are numbered. Hulihin na, kasuhan agad, ipakulong na, itong mga smugglers, at hoarders, na tantamount to economic sabotage,” the senator said.
The President in his SONA called on Congress to amend the 2016 law Anti-Agricultural Smuggling Act to include hoarding, profiteering, and cartel as forms of economic sabotage.
