The Chairperson of Senate Committees on National Defense & Security, Peace, Unification & Reconciliation and Labor, Employment and Human Resource Development Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada visited the troops of the Headquarters Philippine Army to discuss the benefits of military personnel, veterans, and their families in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on April 17, 2023.
Sen. Estrada laid out his plans of standardizing and upgrading the benefits of the military personnel and their dependents. The senator conveyed his eagerness to the Army leadership, “Bilang taga-pangulo ng Komite ng National Defense, nais ko lang maging katuwang kayo sa pagbabalangkas ng mga kinakailangang batas na may kinalaman sa usapin ng pambansang seguridad ng Sandatahang Lakas at military research and development. Hangad ko na mapagtagumpayan ang mga responsbilidad na inaatang sa akin sa Senado at kung mamarapatin ninyo, pagtulungan natin ito para masiguro ang pagtaguyod ng mga kinakailangang reporma sa Armed Forces of the Philippines.”
Likewise, Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. expressed his full support, especially in advancing the interests of the Philippine Army and the entire military community to inspire all soldiers in fulfilling their roles with dedication and perseverance. “On behalf of the men and women of the Philippine Army, I extend my profound gratitude for your unfaltering support and trust in the Philippine Army and the entire AFP. With your resolute conviction in your Army, we are motivated more than ever to capacitate our ground forces, fulfill our core response of serving the people and securing our land, and ultimately, win the people’s victory for lasting peace and progress in the country,” the Army chief gratefully said.
