Jinggoy scrutinizes OMB performance

Sen. Jinggoy Estrada reviews the performance of the Optical Media Board (OMB) in chasing after violators of Republic Act No. 9239 or the Optical Media Act of 2003. In interpellating the agency’s proposed allocation under the P5.268-trillion proposed 2023 national budget, early Tuesday, November 15, 2022, Estrada moved for the suspension of Senate rules to directly ask OMB Chairperson Jeremy Marquez on his efforts to revive the “ailing” local movie industry. Estrada said he will propose for the transfer of the OMB’s functions to other existing Executive offices such as the Film Development Council of the Philippines or the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
