Estrada, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Labor, Employment and Human Resources Development, expresses belief that such move is part of the rightsizing efforts of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and is likewise consistent with the RA 7796 – the law that created TESDA and in which secretary of labor and employment designated as the chairperson of the board of the agency.
