Netizens pa masama! Jinggoy Estrada blasts QC police for ‘sponsoring’ press briefing for gun-toting ex-cop

(POLITIKO) Senator Jinggoy Estrada has called out the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) for seemingly taking the side of dismissed cop Wilfredo Gonzales in a viral road rage incident, where he was shown drawing a gun at a cyclist.

In a privilege speech Tuesday (August 29), Estrada called for an investigation on the incident, which happened on August 8 near Welcome Rotonda, Quezon City.

“Bakit sa kanyang presscon na mukhang inisponsoran at binack-up-an pa ng kanyang mga kabaro sa Philippine National Police, ay mga vloggers at netizens pa ang sinisisi dahil na-expose ang maling gawain niyang ito?” Estrada asked.

“Had this issue not surfaced, mababaon na lamang ito, maaagrabyado ang publiko, at malamang maulit pa sa iba,” he added.

Estrada called Gonzales a danger to the cycling community. The former cop was dismissed from service in 2017 due to a similar gun-toting incident.

“We must not accept this culture of impunity to continue especially on our public roads. Clearly, Mr. Gonzales is a danger to the cycling, commuting, or riding public,” he said.
